About us

WHAT WE DO

Monseñor Victor Tamayo Orphanage is a place that helps orphans and vulnerable children whose fundamental human rights have been violated. Our mission is to provide these children with a secure, enduring, and nurturing home environment, all while delivering academic and psychological support.

OUR IMPACT

Since 2015, we have been unwavering in our commitment to enhancing the lives of children. In the year 2022 alone, we extended our support to over 1,000 children. To achieve this, we actively work towards reuniting children with caring families, collaborating closely with frontline workers, and preventing them from straying down harmful paths. We accomplish this by offering housing, educational programs, and essential resources vital for their growth and development.

Together, we can build a brighter tomorrow for every child.

We believe that through our efforts and our partners, we’re strengthening communities and helping children become tomorrow’s leaders.

We firmly believe that, through our initiatives and partnerships, we are not only strengthening communities but also nurturing the leaders of tomorrow among these children. Our work is driven by the conviction that it serves as a vehicle for creating opportunities for children who aspire to a brighter future. When children endure various forms of trauma, it profoundly affects them socially, emotionally, academically, physically, and spiritually. Our efforts aim to connect those we serve to the world around them, with a strong emphasis on helping them overcome the educational deficits that hinder their progress.

Monseñor Victor Tamayo Orphanage is located in Barranquilla, Colombia, in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods of the city. Alongside the municipality of Barranquilla and the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, we can give a home to 96 children during a year, supporting them with basic needs, balanced nutrition, education, sports and cultural activities for their academic and personal growth.

Every child deserves a story of hope, and we’re here to help write their more promising future.

This home has been changing the lives of 96 children by offering them a safe haven to escape dangerous situations, heal their traumas and grow up in a loving environment through educational and recreational development.

From 2015 to the present, over 15,000,000 million pesos have been allocated for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the facilities, with the goal of providing comprehensive programs that seek the development and dreams of each beneficiary. It features dormitories, classrooms, spaces for technology education, arts, dance, among others. It also includes common areas, green spaces, technological equipment, furniture, sports facilities, and specialized support.
